The test is design to evaluate how well the vehicle’s bumpers on a different type of collisions. The Institute bumper barrier represents the height and design of a typical car bumper. The 1981 Ford Escort which conducted 6 mile per hour test with damage cost of only 85 dollars, while the Mercedez C-Class did not perform well. Its bumper is far to low which result with no damage to the bumper, but a significant damage to the hood, on headlights and grill as well as to the air-conditioning condenser which results to 5,500 dollar damage cost. The Audi A4 equipped with energy appealing which has a limited damage with regards to collisions. With its full test on its front and rear which results to only 1,000 damage cost. While the Corner Test conducted in a 3 miles per hour to evaluate how the bumper protects the vehicle’s corner. The Infiniti G35 does not extend car enough to protect the headlumps, the bumper cover as well as the radio support resulting to 30,500 dollar damage cost. ”Designing an ideal bumper is not difficult.
