List of Cars with the LEAST Expensive Auto Insurance Rates
By: coppeneur
Making sure that your car is less costly to insure is the most effective way you can reduce the cost of your auto insurance. Your own driving record, the age, status and educational degrees of your household, your ZIP code make the costs in your insurance bill. But, as has been written somewhere here in Auto Insurance Select, taking out your personal driving habits and details, your car type and its make have a command on your auto insurance rates.
Analysts in the industry say that from a statistical standpoint, the safest models tend to be the full-sized family-sedan-type cars. Insurance providers and safety analysts are all in unison in their findings that vehicles most often associated with family transportation -- which includes minivans, station wagons and family sedans -- figure in fewer crashes than their high-horsepower cousins that mostly appeal to younger aggressive drivers. You will not disagree that in many cases, driving habits does make all the difference.
If cars that are “high horsepower, high dollar or high-costs of repair and maintenance“ generally fetch a high insurance rate, many (but not all) vehicles that rank low in collision costs are also those that are priced relatively lower in the car market. The study made by Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), a non-profit organization, are helpful as they benchmark the cars that are less costly to insure.

The general case is that if your car was cheap to purchase, then insuring it would usually be on the cheaper side as well. But this is not the only factor for insurers to decide what rate category your car falls under.
The rule of thumb in auto insurance purchase is not to grab the first offer that comes along. So even if you think your insurer has already given you fantastic rates, search some more. Be smart too in shopping around. Surf and click instead of drive and walk. A caveat though, be smarter by making sure that the auto insurance company online has a physical address and has a reputable history in the business.
Say goodbye to expensive rates and make that car insurance policy a reality by choosing a car that is less costly to insure.
