If your partner’s sign is Gemini, you might as well start hiding the car keys. However, if your child’s carpool designated driver this week is a Capricorn, you can be sure that your children are in the safest hands possible.

Suncorp Metway Ltd had recently examined 160000 claims over a period of three years and came back with a list of the safest and least safe drivers based on their astrological signs.

Auto insurance companies may be able to get rid of the complexity of the algorithms currently used to calculate auto insurance rates, which are based on such mundane things as gender, driving record, age, make of car and marital status.
Under the algorithm of astrological auto insurance, the auto insurance company may simply look at each astrological sign of the driver and blame the premium rates on Suncorp Metway report and the negative (or positive) traits of each astrological sign.

Gemini (May 21-21 June) do pay by the teeth. According to the report, Gemini’s are easily distracted and often bored. Geminis has the greatest number of filed traffic accidents than any other sign in the course of the study.

Taureans (April 20-May 20) was second on the list of most likely to have accidents.  Apparently, Taurean traits of obstinacy and stubbornness do not lend themselves to practice the best techniques of defensive driving.

 
The Pisceans (Feb. 19-March 20) or those generally known as the risk-takers/daydreamers give the results some dubious distinction of introducing the third largest number of casualties.

Virgo’s (Aug 23-Sept 22.) inclination towards perfectionism and harsh criticism from others, and Cancer’s (June 22-July 22) grouchy hypersensitivity could explain the lack of patience on the road, which may have caused a Fender - Bender or two. Virgos and Cancers have participated, respectively, the fourth and fifth highest number of collisions.

The list of half of the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth most of the claims, according to the report, were sometimes erratic Aquarians (Jan. 20-Feb. 18), often impulsive and impatient Aries (March 21 - April 19 ), sometimes rigid and intolerant Leos (July 23-Aug. 22.)  and potentially indecisive Libras (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).

If the negative aspects of a zodiac sign can be used to explain the higher rates of collision, then there is no doubt that the positive aspects of the astrological sign that reported fewer collisions can be accounted for these driver’s brilliant driving performance.

The concept of "sharing the road" with other drivers should not be lost in Sagittarians (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). The oft ethical and exceptionally generous Sagittarians submitted the third lowest number of collision claims.

The target analysis of many Scorpios (24 Oct-Nov. 21) could explain the exemplary driving habits that caused them to file the second lowest number of claims.

However, it is the patience and prudence Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19), apparently, that translated them into the safest drivers on the road, according to the study made by Suncorp Metway Ltd.

These signs are just a new way of looking at auto insurance claim and policy considerations.  However, these are not at all scientific and no auto insurance company is ever recorded to have given such consideration a top priority.
