How to Keep Your Cars Safe in Parking Lots
Whether it is the Christmas period, or simply time for a new pair of jeans, an activity most of us do several times a year is Shopping! While shopping malls and department stores can be a pain due to the uncontrollable crowd, the parking spaces around them can also be a source of problems. Here are some tips to keep you and your car safe in the parking lots.
Do not Be A Dangerous driver!
Have you ever once gone in a parking lot, where parking spaces are scarce and competition between them is tough? Most of us experience this especially on weekends or during vacations. Not only do we have a stressful experience finding a parking place, it can also cause us to lose sight, on the pedestrians and other cars, while we are busy looking for spots. In addition, it may lead to that aggressive driving, if you and another car end up competing for a position. While this situation is frustrating, try to remember that this is not fair to blame other who are in the same situation as you are. Think security for all.
It is also usual for parking spaces and parking facilities to back up carelessly especially when we are in a hurry. Make sure you are completely aware of the cars or things behind you, and on every side of your vehicle before slowly backing off from your parking slot.
Safety tips for women
Some of the most common places women are attacked or abducted are in grocery stores and shopping center parking lots or garages. The most important thing to note is that the attackers is looking for potential victims. There are some things you can do to avoid the situation:
• Be vigilant. Keep in mind at all times the dangers that may come your way and be aware of the vicinity. Keep the distance if you are walking past a stranger in a dark area. Strikers often look for someone who is distracted, like those searching for their mobile phone.
• Before getting into your car, check the sides of your car, the back seat, and even under the car. If you parked in front of a truck on the driver's side try to enter your car through the passenger door. If there is a man that seats alone in a car on both sides of you, go back to the store or shopping center and to return later, or ask for someone to escort you to your vehicle (for example, a guard or grocery bagger).
Keep your car interior clear
If you put your valuables visible through the windows of your car, you go too easy for the thieves. Therefore make sure all your valuables are hidden in the trunk. These include your money, electronics such as laptop computers or MP3 players, luggages and bags of groceries.
Follow these simple tips to ensure your safety and that of others. Remember, it is always better to be safe than sorry!
